PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

Canada’s Poorya Nazari has won the biggest ever PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and a staggering first place prize of $3,000,000. His victory, built on unflinching focus and determination, saw him negotiate five days of poker in a tournament which is now the richest outside of the World Series in Las Vegas. In all a total of 1,347 players took part in the $10k No Limit Hold’em Main Event, of which 1,061 qualified on PokerStars, and the prize pool clocked in at a mighty $12,674,000. Nazari, who qualified online with PokerStars, beat Tony Gregg from the USA in heads-up play, which lasted only four hands, when his A-10 crushed Gregg’s Q-7.
The final table featured players from five different countries: Canada, USA, Germany, Brazil and Holland, and included Team PokerStars Pro Alexandre Gomes. The Brazilian player and WSOP* bracelet holder capped a fine performance with a fourth place finish and a payday of $750,000.
In the $25k High Roller event, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier added yet another title to his hugely impressive resume. The 2008 PCA Main Event Champion, and many people’s player of the year, kicked off 2009 in fine style taking down the tournament that featured the world’s top players for $433,500.
The 2009 PCA was a true Festival of Poker, with a range of tournaments and side events to keep the thousands of players that descended on The Bahamas happy. The World Championship of Battleship tournament, where 64 competitors played heads-up on laptops, was won by Bahbak ‘bigredAK’ Oboodi who pocketed $44,800 for first place, defeating Jared "Harrington10" Bleznick in the final match. The week-long festivities also included the live final of World Cup of Poker V, which was won by Germany.

2008 PCA - Highlights
A record-breaking field of 1,136 players entered the 2008 event, generating a massive prize pool of $8,594,976. Among those playing were Team PokerStars Pro members Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker and many more - along with hundreds of PokerStars qualifiers.
